Form & Function

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a product shoot for one of my former brides (read about her gorgeous wedding here). Mary is an artist, and runs a very successful painted glassware shop on Etsy called Mary Elizabeth Arts. When she contacted me, she described wanting photographs of her glasses in use rather than just sitting on a plain backdrop - something that could show off the personality and fun of her art. We set a date and Mary got to work painting, recruiting friends, and designing different vignettes for her glassware. Based on her wedding, I knew everything would be lovely, but I was absolutely blown away at what a good job she did staging everything! What a fun afternoon!

Seriously: Mary went ALL OUT! For the toasting flute shots, she got one of her models to bring along her wedding dress... which still fits (beautifully) five years and a baby later :D

The last images of the evening were taken for an adorable set of birthday shot glasses painted with candles. Mary wanted the whole group for this one, and I was a bit nervous given how many people would be surrounding these tiny glasses, but I love how authentically it came out... helped, no doubt, by the bottles and bottles of wine consumed prior to taking it!

And finally, our lovely artist. Mary, thanks so much for thinking of me for such a fun project! I wish you continued success in all that you do, and would love to work with you any time!
