Surprise!

Happy Father's Day, Michael!!! I bet you weren't expecting to be the subject of a blog post today, eh? But what better gift than to be able to share with the world the two people who've made you a father!

A couple of months ago, Kara contacted me to find out about scheduling a portrait session for her six month-old son Collin as a surprise for her husband's first Father's Day. Michael is a serious photo-hobbyist himself, so it was quite an honor to be chosen to help commemorate his big day. Michael, I hope I did you proud!

Michael and Kara's home is decorated in amazing, bright colors... what fun to photograph! I love that Kara dressed Collin to match the decor - an unexpected way to make sure the photos look great hanging on the wall :D

Then again, these black and whites are a pretty stunning way to show off Collin's incredible, huge eyes... WOW, but this baby is beautiful!

Kara is a veterinarian, and her home houses twice as many animals as it does humans, so it seemed only appropriate that we included one of the furry family members in a couple of the images... This one literally makes me laugh out loud :D

Michael, I hope you (and all the other dads out there!) have a fantastic Father's Day. Kara, thank you for trusting me to help you make it a memorable one! Everyone: go out this weekend and take some photos of the dads in your life... and have a Happy Father's Day!!!
