Jack, Six Months Old | Durham Family Portrait Session

I think I'm in the minority on this, but given the chance, I would NOT choose to stop time with my kids. All the greeting cards and tee shirts lament the passage of time, but as much as I miss my babies, my kids are much more interesting to talk to and cook for and read to and go adventuring with.

A pause button, though? A pause button could come in handy for sure. And if I could pause time, I'd do so every other day between six months and a year. It is, hands down, my favorite baby age, full of smiles and wonder and giggles and thigh rolls and all the pudgy-handed love you can handle. Yeah... six months is pretty effing incredible.

I guess the camera is my version of the pause button.

Here's Jack, paused on perfect.

Sunshine | Family Portraits in Durham

Though I'm acutely aware that I've essentially disappeared off the face of the blogging world recently, I promise it's not for lack of material. In particular, this spring has been full of amazing newborn sessions, and I'm really looking forward to sharing some of those sweet new faces with you as soon as I can catch my breath and catch up! In the meantime, though, this week has been a tough one for me, so I was thinking I'd share a little sunshine... Remember Claire from her newborn and as a six month-old sessions? Claire is gorgeous, and is now nearly famous for her "Claire face," which is as solemn as any I've seen on a baby. We captured lots of Claire face photos at her six-month session, including this one:

And that, my friends, is some serious sunshine! Here's to a great weekend!
