Diane, Annie, Philip & Allison | Family Portraits in Chapel Hill
The portraits I made a few weeks ago of Diane & Annie and their twins Philip & Allison were a long time coming. They'd called me last fall in the hope of having photographs in time for the holidays, but when the day arrived for our session, poor Philip was sick. It was late enough in the season that we didn't have time to reschedule, so I met up with them for a quick family portrait for the holiday card, then we planned to reschedule the full session for sometime in the spring. Of course, life gets busy, and without the pressure of the holidays, our date kept creeping back, but I feel like the day we finally got together couldn't have been planned better: it was a cool afternoon after a downpour, so the campus was quiet and saturated in spring color. We had a lovely time strolling around, stopping by the Public Health building where Diane and Annie first met, and landing at Sugarland... the perfect destination to keep a couple of six year-olds motivated!
By the way, I love that this is my second twin post in a row - last week with newborns, this week with big kids. I can only imagine the work involved in parenting multiples - especially through those first years - but I look at the incredible connection between Allison & Philip and can only imagine how rewarding it must be, too. Diane & Annie, you've done an amazing job... thank you for letting me photograph your beautiful family!
