Fleeting | Durham Family Photographer

Most of the time, people call me to schedule portrait sessions to mark some kind of occasion - a birth or a birthday, a pregnancy, an engagement, etc. I do love making portraits just for fun, though, and was so happy when Chrissy and Jose called about doing just that - celebrating this one, fleeting moment in the life of their little family... just because. Life with little kids can be tough at times... I think it's easy to romanticize it when you're looking forward to it or perhaps back on it, but when you're in the middle of it all, it's a lot of work, and between that and the pressures of life and jobs and all the annoying responsibilities of adulthood, you can quickly start to lose focus on the beauty and the joy that makes it all worthwhile. What I loved most about my time with Chrissy & Jose was that they seemed perfectly at peace with the chaos - appreciated it, even - and through it all, had so much fun with each other.
