Life as Art | Raleigh Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you a sneak peek of my portrait session with three year-old Annalise. I mentioned then that the session was remarkable in that it really captured the essence of what it is to be three years old: inquisitive, enthusiastic, and not-to-be pinned down for more than two seconds at a time. As I worked through editing this session, it seemed that every picture told that same story - there were very few images of little Annalise standing still, much less looking directly at the camera. I suppose some might see that as a problem - not having a series of classic "portraits" - but I thought it was perfect: it will recall the sweet, busy-bee reality of three year-old Annalise well into the years where she sits much more than she runs.Raleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerA couple of times, I was able to catch a stolen glance, but then she was off and running again... Raleigh Family PhotographerI love so many images from this session, but this next one has to be one of my very very favorites... pure, gorgeous, dreamy, rainbow-winged childhood. LOVE!

And then a few minutes' rest: cuddling with mom, watching a plane fly by, and taking a peek at the world from an ant's perspective.Raleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerThen, batteries recharged, she took flight again!Raleigh Family PhotographerRaleigh Family PhotographerQuinn and Maarten, thank you for a lovely morning. These pictures make me smile ear to ear, and I hope they'll do the same for you for years to come!
