Juliana | Washington, D.C. Newborn Photographer

I don't often travel for portrait sessions - I've got a pretty tightly-packed schedule, and there are a lot of photographers out there in the world. But when Andrew - who was a year behind me at my itty-bitty high school and whose family I've known for years - asked if I could come to D.C. to photograph his newborn daughter, I really hoped we'd be able to make it work. And I am so, so, very glad we did :D D.C. Newborn PhotographerAndrew's wife Rachel is a knockout, a lovely woman, and super-crafty. Nearly every item in their home that caught my eye turned out to be something she had made - the fun, modern decor in the nursery, a cool abstract art piece in the front hall, and a gorgeous quilt she'd hand-pieced from her grandmother's and mother's wedding dresses and used as the Chuppah for her wedding. I'm a sucker for a beautifully decorated home, but honestly, little Juliana stole the show.

It wasn't a short trip to make for a portrait session, but as I said before, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Rachel and Andrew, I'm so honored that you chose me to document the very early days of your new family... I hope I get to see you all again, soon and often! In the meantime, snuggle your perfect little girl for me... she is truly remarkable.
