Kari & Greg | Durham Bulls Stadium Engagement Session
I can't believe how quickly Kari & Greg's wedding is coming up... and I'm so excited about it! As I said when I posted their sneak peek, these two are a dream to photograph - fun, relaxed, and about as camera-friendly as they come: And speaking of camera-friendly, I had so much fun with both of our locations for this shoot! Kari and Greg are big into baseball, so I looked into getting us into the Durham Bulls stadium. For a while, it seemed like our prospects were rather grim, but we got the go-ahead at the last minute and showed up bright and early on Saturday morning all excited to shoot in a big, empty stadium. Except it wasn't empty. There were 600 boy scouts camping on the outfield... I guess it had been on the calendar as a Friday night event and the person I had coordinated with had just forgotten that they weren't due to leave until nine or so. Anyway, not to be deterred, we shot in the stands for a bit until the kids had packed up most of their stuff... then I relied on creative framing and photoshop to clear out the rest. Never mind, though... it was all worth it. There aren't too many spots around town where you can get shots like this one :D
After playing around in the stadium, we strolled next door to the American Tobacco Campus for part two of our session. I am so excited that the ATC is now allowing professional photography (for a long time, they were very strict about permits, which were essentially impossible to come by for private sessions) - it's got great lines and light and with those deep eaves, would even work for a rainy-day session! Kari & Greg, I hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of your engagement... the big day will be here before you know it!
