What's the story with your name?
Annemie is basically the Dutch version of Anne Marie. It's pronounced like the "-onomy" in "economy," but here in the South, I've become quite accustomed to Anna Mae as well!
What are your prices?
My portrait session fee is $250, and print prices start at $40. Digital files and packages are available and begin at $150. Though it ranges widely based on budget and need, on average my portrait clients invest between $1000 and $2500.
What kinds of products do you offer?
I try to keep it simple, with a focus on the timeless beauty of the photographic print itself. I produce all of my own prints in-house on a large-format fine art printer, and offer archival matting and framing to best preserve those prints.
Why do you make your own prints?
Because I know the difference between the fine art prints I produce and the quickie prints they serve up at most of the labs catering to the general public. I appreciate that my clients are invested in having high quality portraits made, and know they expect the same of their finished products.
Do you offer Custom albums?
Yes I do! What better way to tell your story than in a gorgeous book? I do my own design work in collaboration with my clients, examples of which you can see here.
Where do you photograph portraits?
Most of my portrait work is done on location in my clients' homes and around town, providing a natural set of portraits that invoke the spaces and landscapes where my clients feel most comfortable.
When will we get to see our photos?
We will schedule a sales & design consultation roughly three weeks after your session. You'll get to see all of your images (typically between 35-45 from a standard session), and we'll work together to design an album, wall gallery, or digital order based on your goals and vision. After your order is placed, an online gallery will be available for you to share with friends and family while you wait for your order to arrive!
Do you photograph anything other than family portraits and newborns?
I love all kinds of portrait work, as well as commercial and journalistic projects. If you like my style and want to discuss an idea, please drop me a line... I'm always up for a new creative challenge!
Do you ever Photograph births?
Births are perhaps my very favorite thing to shoot... and if you've got time, I'll tell you all about the crazy journey that led me from being about 65% of the way through a masters degree in midwifery to being a photographer. That said, the logistics of birth photography can be tricky, so I am only able to consider commissions on a case-by-case basis. If you're interested, though, do be in touch!
I love your photos, but i'm concerned about my budget... what can i do?
Whereas all of my clients appreciate the value of photographic art, not everyone has an unlimited budget for it. I completely understand that, and know that my work is an investment. I do my best to find products and payment options to accommodate those who are committed to commissioning my work, so don't be afraid to reach out... in my experience, where there's a will, there's a way.
